Estimate paper and finished print weight from format, grammage, quantity, and print coverage.
The print allowance assumes approximately 0.33–0.66g per A4-equivalent sheet at 33% coverage, scaled by sheet area. It is a broad estimate: colour mix, printer, media and toner or ink formulation all affect the actual weight.
Sheet area in square metres is multiplied by GSM and quantity. The print allowance is an estimate scaled by sheet area and quantity.
Allow separately for covers, binding, packaging, and manufacturing tolerances. Weigh a representative printed batch when an exact shipping weight matters.
