Exporting a Print PDF from Canva

Prepare Your Design

Make sure your design matches the required print size and includes bleed, usually 3mm. Keep important content inside the safe area so it is not trimmed off.

If you designed in RGB, Canva will convert to CMYK during download, but colours may shift slightly, so review the file carefully.

Download as a PDF

Click Share, then Download, and choose PDF Print rather than PDF Standard.

Additional Settings

  • enable Crop marks and bleed
  • leave Flatten PDF unchecked if the printer may need editable layers

If your design contains text, Canva generally embeds fonts for you, so you do not need to outline them manually.

Final Check

Download the PDF and open it in a viewer such as Adobe Acrobat. Check that the bleed, crop marks, and safe area all look correct and that no important content has been cropped.
